LLCN received funding from NSF to support two deaf interns to work this summer (2024) on an eye-tracking project investigating the source of the reading efficiency that we observe in deaf readers (by studying CODAs). The position is open to graduate student or a senior undergrad who would like research experience. Applicants are asked to submit a resume, a letter of recommendation from their Ph.D. advisor (for graduate students) or from a faculty member (for undergraduates), and a 1-2 page summary of their research interests and career goals to Dr. Karen Emmorey (kemmorey@sdsu.edu). The application deadline is April 19.

ASL-LEX Database
ASL-LEX is an interactive visualization and open-source database containing important linguistic information about 2,723 ASL signs. The main goal of the database is to provide information about the properties of ASL signs, such as frequency or sign-based phonology and is intended for use in education, scientific research or machine learning.
This project is an ongoing collaboration among three universities and the teams consist of deaf and hearing scientists.
